Our story...

Premier Renewable Energy (PRE) is an independent power company registered in Victoria, British Columbia whose mission is to develop, construct and operate utility-scale wind energy projects in Canada and the United States.

Incorporated in 2007, PRE is jointly owned by Irish-based partnership ABW and Netherlands-based Izzy projects.  The expertise and experience provided by these owners in developing wind projects in Europe and North America over the past 10 years ensure that financially sound and technically viable projects are being developed - and in locations where sufficient, dependable wind resources will meet the demands for green power markets in North America.

At present, PRE's portfolio consists of two developed projects in British Columbia and one in Ontario with the capacity to generate nearly 250MW of clean, renewable energy. PRE's portfolio also includes ownership in wind energy projects undergoing initial study in BC and Alberta, representing an additional 350 MW of potential wind energy. Additional sites in the U.S. Pacific Northwest are being investigated.

The first PRE project is slated to commence operations in late 2012.

Our vision...

The demand for green power in North America is emerging. PRE has the capacity and experience to contribute to the growth of the installed wind energy capacity in North America and to a more sustainable future for Canada and the United States.

Wind energy is one of the most advanced technologies for harvesting renewable energy in the world. The price per kWh, the availability of wind, and the proven, reliable technology make wind energy the most attractive renewable energy source in today's energy mix. This is reflected in continual sector growth in markets all over the world, including Canada and the United States. In PRE's vision, it is clear that wind energy will continue to play a growing role in the future of our energy supply.

Our misson...

PRE's mission is to contribute to the growth of clean, renewable energy production around the world. Harvesting the wind at places where demand is growing is the quickest way to contribute to the transition to a globally sustainable power supply. PRE is committed to the realization of wind energy projects in emerging markets.

New Project in Ontario

PRE recently agreed to co-develop the Skyway 127 Wind Energy Project near Port Elgin, Ontario, on the shores of Lake Huron. The 100MW project is ready to enter Ontario's renewable energy Feed-In Tariff (FIT) Program. PRE and Skyway 127 anticipate the project will be commissioned mid 2012, at which point PRE will assume responsibility for project operations. The project is targeted to produce approximately 26,000 KWh of clean, renewable energy each year.

Skyway 127 will become the first PRE project on line in Canada, following the completion of the Kill Hills and Foiladaun Wind Energy Projects in the Republic of Ireland.
